About this server
This server uses the following hardware and software:
- HP ML350 running Windows 2003
- Apache webserver
- PHP scripting engine
This machine is connected to the Internet using a 2.3 Mbit SDSL connection.
The database behind this site is powered by the following gear:
- HP ProLiant ML350 G3 with an Intel Xeon @ 2.8 GHz,
2 GB RAM, and 6 36 GB SCSI disks (10k RPM, U320, hotswap).
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- PostgreSQL database server
Incidentally, the above machine also runs an Oracle 10g database server which we use
for software development for our clients, as well as a separate Apache webserver
for our intranet.
Data on both machines is backed-up every night to our NT file server (which is an
HP NetServer LH4, 512 MB RAM and 3 18 GB 15k SCSI disks) using simple shell scripts
executing tar and ftp commands. The NT server is of course included in our regular
tape backup scheme.
It's a bit dark, but the three most prominent computers are this web server,
old terminal server, Oracle and file server. Also visible is the UPS (small box to the left,
with green light), old mail and file servers (extreme right), two displays that do not
actually run 'top' all the time and various network equipment.
